It should not merely copy a job description or decorate routine work with numbers you cannot defend.

Use the evidence formula

Action + object + context or constraint + observable outcome. Add a method, scale, or collaboration detail only when it helps the reader understand difficulty or relevance.

Weak duty

Evidence-led version

Responsible for user access

Reviewed role assignments for a business unit, corrected conflicting access, and documented the approval path for future requests.

Worked on deployment

Automated repeatable deployment checks, reducing missed configuration steps and giving the team a shared validation record.

Handled support tickets

Investigated recurring authentication failures, identified a common configuration cause, and created a runbook used for later cases.

Separate scope from impact

Scope describes the environment: users, systems, regions, records, integrations, team size, risk, or time. Impact describes what changed. A large scope is not automatically a strong outcome, and a valuable improvement may matter even when no exact number exists.

Use honest measurements

Use metrics you measured or can reconstruct responsibly.

Explain whether a result was individual, team, or organization-wide.

Prefer a qualified estimate over invented precision.

When no metric exists, use an observable outcome: removed a manual handoff, restored service, passed a review, reduced repeated errors, or enabled a launch.

Prepare the source and calculation for every important number.

Make your contribution visible

Do not claim the entire team outcome, but do not disappear behind “supported” and “assisted.” Name what you investigated, recommended, configured, built, reviewed, tested, documented, or coordinated. In the interview, use “we” for shared context and “I” for your contribution.

Build an evidence ledger before rewriting

Problem or need

Environment and constraints

Your responsibility

Important decision or action

Validation method

Outcome and measurement

People involved

What you learned

Once the ledger exists, select evidence relevant to each role instead of repeatedly inventing bullets from memory. Remove confidential names, data, internal architecture, credentials, vulnerabilities, and proprietary artifacts.

Run the follow-up test

For every bullet, answer: Why did it matter? What exactly did you do? What alternative existed? How did you validate it? What went wrong? Who else contributed? What would you change? If you cannot answer, weaken the claim or remove it.

Connect resume evidence to your behavioral story bank and, if you are early in your career, to a role-aligned project portfolio.

Replace duty lists and inflated metrics with concise evidence of context, action, scope, validation, and outcome.

[3

post-23","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-portfolio-evidence
["GET
